Women's safety trainers and work trainers at Shuperb

Shop women's safety trainers and ladies work trainers at Shuperb, an official authorised UK stockist of every brand we sell. The collection brings together safety trainers with steel, composite and aluminium toe caps from Skechers Work, Grafters, Amblers Safety, Reebok, Himalayan, Unbreakable, Apache, Helly Hansen and Dewalt, plus slip resistant Skechers work trainers with no toe cap for jobs that need grip rather than toe protection. Every style has a slip resistant sole, and sizes start from UK 2. Only styles in stock are shown.

Why a ladies safety trainer beats a unisex style

A ladies safety trainer is made on a women's last, the foot-shaped mould a shoe is built around, so it follows the contours and shape of a woman's foot for a closer, more comfortable fit through a full shift. A unisex safety trainer is made to fit both men and women, so it is not shaped specifically around a woman's foot. Our ladies safety trainers include Skechers women's safety trainers, Amblers Safety ladies styles, the Grafters women's lightweight safety trainer and the Reebok Excel Light women's safety trainer, and mostly run from UK 2 or UK 3 to UK 8 or UK 9. Unisex styles usually start at UK 3. Both give the same certified toe protection.

Steel toe cap, composite toe cap or aluminium toe cap

Every safety trainer here is certified to EN ISO 20345, the European standard for safety footwear, so every toe cap is tested to withstand an impact of 200 joules and a compression of 15 kilonewtons, whatever it is made of. Steel toe cap trainers are the traditional choice. Composite toe cap trainers are made without metal and are usually lighter, and many of our composite styles are fully metal free. Aluminium toe caps are a lighter metal alternative to steel. The toe cap is shown in each product name.

Women's safety trainer ratings explained

  • SB: a protective toe cap certified to EN ISO 20345.
  • S1: adds a closed heel, an anti-static sole and an energy absorbing heel.
  • S1P: S1 plus a puncture resistant midsole to stop nails and sharp objects coming through the sole.
  • S3: S1P plus a water resistant upper and a cleated sole.
  • S1PS, S1PL, S3S and S3L: newer markings under EN ISO 20345:2022, showing which type of non-metal puncture resistant midsole is fitted.
  • ESD: selected styles are ESD (electrostatic dissipative) for workplaces with sensitive electronics.

Lightweight and comfortable ladies safety trainers

Most of our women's safety trainers are lightweight, and many have breathable mesh uppers, padded collars and removable insoles, so they feel more like sports trainers than safety footwear. For extra comfort, Skechers safety trainers bring Skechers Memory Foam, Arch Fit and hands-free Slip-ins to the workplace, and selected Reebok styles also have memory foam insoles. Most styles are black to suit work uniforms, with navy, grey and brighter options including pink and teal.

Slip resistant work trainers for women

If your job needs grip but not a toe cap, choose Skechers slip resistant work trainers. They are certified to EN ISO 20347 for occupational footwear, with slip resistant soles, many with fuel and oil resistant soles, and Memory Foam or Air-Cooled Memory Foam comfort. They are a popular choice for nurses, care workers, kitchen and bar staff, cleaners and retail teams, in black and white, from UK 2 to UK 9, including selected wide fit styles.

Who wears women's safety trainers?

Women's safety trainers are worn in warehouses and logistics, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, facilities management and anywhere a toe cap is required. Slips, trips and falls on the same level are the most common cause of non-fatal workplace injury reported by employers in Great Britain, making up 30% of reported injuries to employees in 2024/25, according to the HSE, which is why every style in this collection has a slip resistant sole. Your employer's risk assessment will say which safety rating your job needs.

How should women's safety trainers fit?

A safety trainer should fit snugly, with your heel held in place and your toes clear of the toe cap. Leave around a thumb's width of space at the front, and allow for the socks you wear at work. Half sizes are available in selected styles, and each product page shows the sizes in stock.

Delivery and returns

Most women's safety trainers are held in our own UK warehouse and are dispatched the same day on orders placed before 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Other styles are sent from our suppliers and arrive in 2 to 4 working days with standard delivery, or 1 to 2 working days with express delivery. Standard UK delivery costs £3.99, free on orders over £60. Unworn items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, and exchanges are free.

Women's Safety Trainers FAQs

What are the best safety trainers for women?

The best women's safety trainers are the ones that meet the safety rating your job needs and fit well enough to wear all shift. Look for a ladies safety trainer made on a women's last, which follows the shape of a woman's foot, plus a lightweight build, a slip resistant sole and a cushioned insole. Shuperb stocks women's safety trainers from Skechers Work, Amblers Safety, Grafters, Reebok, Himalayan, Unbreakable, Apache, Helly Hansen and Dewalt, with steel, composite and aluminium toe caps, from UK 2.

Are steel toe cap or composite toe cap trainers better for women?

Both give the same certified protection. Every toe cap certified to EN ISO 20345 must withstand an impact of 200 joules and a compression of 15 kilonewtons. Steel toe caps are the traditional choice, while composite toe caps are made without metal and are usually lighter, which many women prefer for long shifts. Aluminium toe caps are a lighter metal alternative to steel.

What do SB, S1P and S3 mean on safety trainers?

SB means a protective toe cap certified to EN ISO 20345. S1 adds a closed heel, an anti-static sole and an energy absorbing heel, and S1P adds a puncture resistant midsole. S3 adds a water resistant upper and a cleated sole on top of S1P. Newer markings such as S1PS, S1PL, S3S and S3L show the type of non-metal puncture resistant midsole fitted under EN ISO 20345:2022. Check your employer's risk assessment for the rating your job needs.

Why choose a ladies safety trainer over a unisex style?

A ladies safety trainer is made on a women's last, the mould a shoe is built around, so it follows the contours and shape of a woman's foot for a closer, more comfortable fit. A unisex safety trainer is made to fit both men and women, so it is not shaped specifically around a woman's foot. Both give the same certified toe protection. Shuperb's ladies safety trainers usually run from UK 2 or UK 3 to UK 8 or UK 9, and unisex styles usually start at UK 3.
