Our Men's Safety & Workwear Boots collection brings together lace-up safety boots, pull-on dealer boots, rigger boots and safety wellingtons for every kind of working day, from building sites and warehouses to farms, workshops and factories. You'll find trusted workwear brands including Amblers Safety, Grafters, Himalayan, Apache, DeWalt, Unbreakable and CAT, with men's and unisex fits and a small range of non-safety work boots for jobs that don't need a protective toe cap.

Every safety boot is certified to EN ISO 20345, with a toe cap tested to a 200 joule impact. Choose S1P for dry indoor work where there's a risk of sharp objects underfoot, S3 when you also need a water-resistant upper and a cleated outsole for outdoor sites, and S7 for fully waterproof protection in wet conditions. Steel and composite toe caps pass the same impact test; composite, metal-free styles are lighter and suit metal-detector or cold environments. Look out for HRO heat-resistant soles, SRC or SR slip resistance, ESD for electronics work, cold-insulated linings and metatarsal guards where the job demands it.

Need something different? Browse our men's safety & workwear trainers and safety shoes for a lighter fit, men's wellingtons and waders for wet work, or occupational boots without a safety toe cap. Or shop by brand with Amblers Safety, Grafters, Apache and DeWalt.

Men's Safety & Workwear Boots FAQs

Which safety rating do I need: S1P, S3 or S7?

S1P boots have a protective toe cap, antistatic sole, energy-absorbing heel and a puncture-resistant midsole, which suits dry indoor work. S3 adds a water-resistant upper and a cleated outsole, making it the most popular choice for outdoor sites. S7 adds full waterproofing on top of S3 for wet, muddy conditions.

Is a steel or composite toe cap better?

Both are tested to the same 200 joule impact standard, so they offer the same level of toe protection. Composite toe caps are lighter, don't conduct heat or cold and are metal-free, which helps if you pass through metal detectors. Steel toe caps are slimmer and often found on more traditional, hard-wearing boots.

What is the difference between safety boots and non-safety work boots?

Safety boots are certified to EN ISO 20345 and always have a protective toe cap. Non-safety or occupational work boots are certified to EN ISO 20347 and have no toe cap, but still offer features like slip resistance, oil resistance and comfort for long shifts. Check your workplace risk assessment to see which you need.

What do SRC and SR mean on a safety boot?

They show the boot has passed slip-resistance testing. SRC is used on styles certified to the 2011 standard and means the sole was tested on both ceramic tile and steel. SR is used on boots certified to the 2022 standard and includes an extra test on ceramic tile with glycerine.
