Collection: Men's Workwear Essentials

Our Workwear Essentials collection brings together everything you rely on for a full shift: certified safety boots, lightweight safety trainers, slip-resistant work shoes and hard-wearing work clothing. We stock trusted workwear brands including Amblers Safety, Skechers Work, Apache, Grafters and Crocs At Work, with styles for men and women.

Our safety footwear is certified to EN ISO 20345, so you can match it to your workplace: S1P for dry indoor work such as warehousing, and S3 for construction, outdoor and wet sites. Choose steel or composite toe caps, waterproof membranes and puncture-resistant midsoles to suit the job. Where toe protection isn't required, occupational footwear gives you slip resistance and all-day comfort for hospitality, healthcare and retail.

Shop men's safety boots and women's safety boots for heavy-duty sites, men's safety trainers and women's safety trainers for warehousing and logistics, or work wellies for wet conditions. Complete your kit with work tops and work trousers and shorts, or browse the full men's workwear and women's workwear ranges.

Workwear FAQs

What is the difference between safety and occupational footwear?

Safety footwear is certified to EN ISO 20345 and has a protective toe cap tested to withstand a 200 joule impact. Occupational footwear (EN ISO 20347) has no toe cap but still offers features such as slip resistance, making it a comfortable choice for hospitality, healthcare and retail. If you are unsure which you need, check your employer's risk assessment or PPE policy.

Which safety rating do I need: SB, S1P or S3?

SB is the basic rating, covering the 200 joule toe cap. S1 adds a closed heel, antistatic properties and an energy-absorbing heel, and S1P adds a puncture-resistant midsole on top of that, which suits dry indoor work such as warehousing. S3 includes everything in S1P plus a water-resistant upper and cleated outsole, making it the go-to choice for construction, outdoor and wet sites.

Should I choose a steel or composite toe cap?

Both pass the same 200 joule impact test, so the protection standard is the same. Composite toe caps are lighter, do not conduct cold or heat and will not set off metal detectors, which makes them popular for long shifts, airports and secure sites. Steel toe caps are slimmer, so the boot or trainer can have a less bulky profile.

Is S3 safety footwear waterproof?

S3 footwear has a water-resistant upper, which keeps out splashes and light rain. For fully waterproof protection in all-day wet conditions, look for styles with a waterproof membrane, or choose safety wellingtons. Use the Waterproof filter in this collection to find them quickly.
