Born in the 1920s Palladium began life manufacturing aircraft tyres for the aviation industry quickly becoming the largest supplier of aircraft tyres in Europe.
The outbreak of war in Europe provided an understandable demand on the aviation industry, especially for military aircraft, but by the tail end of the 1940’s with WWII coming to an end, the demand decreased and Palladium adapted their canvas and rubber resources to create its first footwear. Using their knowledge and resources they manufactured a style of boot that quickly became known for its durability. Such was their durability and comfort that they soon became the staple boot of the French Foreign Legion.
By the 1960s Palladium boots had started to grace the feet of European explorers including French volcanologist and geologist Haroun Tazieff on his many expeditions. They were soon widely adopted by a large portion of the exploring community, thanks to their reputation for reliability in harsh conditions.
Fast forward 30 years to the early 90’s and a new group of people had adopted the brand as their own. Namely followers of the Grunge and Acid house scenes.
