Dr Martens 2976 Chelsea Boot may not be the most infamous boot within the Dr Martens range however it is certainly in contention for the the coolest. The Dr Marten 2976 comes in a choice of 3 colours, black, brown and cherry red. The cherry red colour has become synonymous with Dr Martens boots. It is probably most commonly attributed to the Dr Martens 1460 8 eyelet boot however it looks fantastic on the smooth leather upper of the Dr Marten 2976. The gaucho brown option has a slightly different texture to it. The brown uses crazy-horse leather which gives the upper a slightly matte, waxy finish.
Typically chelsea boots are hardwearing, tough boots that can hold their own in a more formal environment. If a comfortable boot that is as stylish as it is tough then the DM2976 certainly fits the bill. All colour options come with the Dr Martens patented Airwair sole, also known as a bouncing sole. An Airwair sole is made with tiny pockets of air, inside the sole, that add bouncing and absorb impacts on the bottom of your feet.
All three colours options of the Dr Martens 2976 chelsea boot also have twin elasticated sides. The elasticated sides partnered with the pull tab on the back of the heel makes this a dream to slide on and off.
Dr Martens, despite what you may think, actually started life in Germany. A german medic by the name of Klaus Martens designed and developed the boots after decided that his army standard boots were too uncomfortable. Dr Martens then found their feet (excuse the pun) within the British Mod culture of the 60s & 70s. Dr Martens are now a symbol of British working history and popular culture that is recognised the world over.
